Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Orthopedic RehabilitationThe Optimal Rehabilitation Program for orthopedic patients is an individualized, patient-driven therapy and rehabilitation program. Physical, occupational and speech therapy is typically available up to seven days a week depending upon the individual needs and abilities of the patient. The goal of the Orthopedic Optimal Rehabilitation Program is to increase muscle strength reserve and physical vigor, which enables individuals to regain as much functional mobility and independence as possible and return to an active life in both home and community settings. Through Optimal Rehabilitation, patients are given the chance to achieve their best physical potential.

Using evidence-based research and scientifically proven tests and measures, therapists evaluate each person’s functional status and identify areas that may be impaired. Throughout the evaluation process, a patient-focused communication model is used so each individual's medical concerns and rehabilitation goals are continually evaluated and adjusted if necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Once the patient's physical deficits and personal goals are identified, an Optimal Rehabilitation Program is developed that targets these functional issues through a unique combination of strength and power exercises, along with specific functional training interventions that can help individuals achieve their mobility goals. Patient progress is assessed through ongoing patient-centered communication and by completing retests of the same or advanced evaluation tools.

Optimal Rehabilitation is dose-specific, which means the more effort an individual puts into rehabilitation, the more likely the person is to improve and achieve their mobility goals. Everyone can gain strength and function in Optimal Rehabilitation, regardless of physical health or medical condition. All that is needed is time and effort, and the professional guidance of the therapy staff.
